Thai team Attack All Around crowned world champions at the Free Fire World Series (FFWS) 2022 Sentosa

After two weekends of intense competition, Attack All Around from Thailand was crowned champion at the Free Fire World Series (FFWS) 2022 Sentosa Finals yesterday. The team took home the World Series title and US$500,000 in prize money after racking 42 kills and 1 Booyah, which landed them 92 points. Attack All Around’s victory marks a second consecutive World Series victory for Thailand after Team EVOS Phoenix, previously known as Phoenix Force, emerged victorious at the FFWS 2021 Singapore last year.

The FFWS 2022 Sentosa saw one of the tightest matches against last year’s World Series champions, EVOS Phoenix from Thailand, closing in at second place with 91 points, and third-placed Vastomundo from the Europe Pro League finishing off with 75 points.

Battle of the Thai teams: Attack All Around and EVOS Phoenix

After five exciting matches, the competition for the final championship is between two teams from Thailand: Attack All Around and EVOS Phoenix. EVOS Phoenix initially led up with 2 Booyahs until the fifth match. However, EVOS Phoenix was blocked by Brazil's strongest team LOUD in the early stage of the sixth game, which led to their annihilation and did not score a point. Attack All Around played flawlessly in the sixth match with 16 points when they were behind EVOS Phoenix by 15 points until the fifth match. The sixth match proved to be the game-changer, leading to changes in rankings and the slim victory of Attack All Around. The winning team clinched their first Booyah! in the fourth match.

The Thai team Attack All Around emerged as the true underdogs of this year’s World Series, having to play their way into the Finals through the Play-ins last week. JLX of the winning team was also named Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the FFWS 2022 Sentosa with his formidable performance of 14 kills in the bag.
