Top 5 Performing Players of Indian Free Fire Circuit in 2021

2021 was amazing for the Indian Free Fire competitive circuit. The players at the top evolved into stronger, deadlier versions of themselves, and new names started becoming the talk of the town. In this article, we’ll take a look at the top five players of 2021, who kept us entertained with their amazing clutches and nutty aim.

5. NGX - Vasiyo

Vasiyo became the first person to win two FFIC tournaments. He won FFIC 2020 Fall with Total Gaming Esports and 2021 Spring with Galaxy Racer. This legendary achievement makes him one of the best in the region, and he is rightly touted by many as the most experienced player in the country. Many might be wondering how the #1 player of 2020 dropped down to the fifth place in 2021? Here’s the answer. The first half of the year is when Vasiyo shined, however, in the second half, he was overshadowed by flashy players who we’ll discuss later. Credit where credit is due, Vasiyo was like Phoenix this year who was born anew several times as he discovered his true place in a team. After leaving Total Gaming Esports, he had to rebuild a fresh line-up from scratch under the Galaxy Racer banner. Shortly after the formation of his new team, they were thrust into action and won FFIC 2021 Spring. Even though there’s other players with better stats than Vasiyo, the circumstances that he had to go through this year and his perseverance to tackle the obstacles head on while still delivering results is what kept him in the top 5. A list like this is just incomplete without Vasiyo.

4. TG - Mafia

Mafia joined Total Gaming Esports in May 2021. Ever since Vasiyo and Golden left, the team has been trying to fill a void. After the stint with Javaboy and Prince didn’t work out, Mafia and Delete were signed by Total Gaming Esports. While he was one of the newer players at that time, he has proven that he can more than step up to the challenge. The best form of this ‘stepping up’ was seen in Free Fire Pro League 2021 Summer. They barely qualified and got into the finals, which made people lose their faith in their abilities, but Mafia held his ground, while Delete fragged out of his mind to get the win. In FFIC 2021 Fall, Mafiabala went berserk with his kills, but a lot of it was possible thanks to Mafia’s support. While his own stats during the pro tournaments were not as high as those of his teammates, one must not forget that Mafia has proven himself to be a reliable player at range, regardless of whether he is wielding a sniper rifle or not. When he was asked to prove his individual prowess in the Winter Invitational, he proved that he isn’t far behind Mafiabala, his senior teammate. Not only did he get his team to the second place on the podium, he was also in the top 3 fraggers of the tournament with 56 frags and 31667 damage

3. GodL - Nivesh

Nivesh was the innovator that ushered in the grenadier meta. He was the first one in India to specialize in killing with grenades and throwables. This makes him the creator of an entirely new role in teams. He combined Alvaro’s Art of Demolition along with Beaston Pet. Alvaro’s passive ability grants him extra damage and range, while Beaston Pet lets him toss 30% further. When the ‘cook grenade’ feature was added, Nivesh showed us the true potential of a dedicated grenadier in your team. He got 59 kills during the league stage of FFIC 2021 Fall, making him the highest fragger. All of this was thanks to his creative genius. Several people have now started to copy his style, but none can come close to his level of accuracy.

2. OG - Pahadi

Pahadi has always been regarded as one of the best snipers in the country. His awards last year proved the same. This year was no different, however we did see Pahadi trying to fit into newer roles, which shows how much he has grown as a player. Pahadi was the MVP of the Free Fire Tri Series! He got 75 kills in that tournament, which was significantly more than everyone else. He popped off in FFTS! The only person to come close enough to Pahadi was his own teammate Killer, who got only 50 kills in FFTS. Pahadi was also the top-fragger from any South Asian country in the Free Fire Asia All-Stars. He was majorly responsible for helping his team break their ‘curse’ and finally win FFIC 2021 Fall. While his teammate Killer stole the spotlight in FFIC, Pahadi was crucial for their journey. He was the highest damage dealer and the second highest fragger during the FFIC 2021 Play-ins, which pushed his team over the edge into the finals and towards their first official pro tournament victory. In the Asia Championship, we saw him migrate from his standard role of a sniper. He was the one who equipped Misha’s Afterburner and took on the role of the designated driver for his team. This is a role that required him to sacrifice quite a lot, and was hence unable to frag as much as his other teammates in the FFAC, but his moves got his team a booyah on the international stage.

  1. 1. OG - Killer

The only person who could overshadow the best sniper in the country Pahadi is a youngling from his own team. Killer proved to be the best player in the country this year. Killer had some career-defining moves and clutches this year that got him this title. We all know that Orangutan Elite (Previously know as Team Elite) had a ‘curse’ associated with them. A curse that they’d choke in the finals of major tournaments. This was broken by Killer this year. He was the kill leader during the league stage of Free Fire Pro League. While his efforts in that tournament didn’t get his team the trophy, he did not give up and fought harder during the FFIC 2021 Fall, becoming the kill leader of the finals there as well. Orangutan Elite was trailing behind PVS Gaming during the grand finals of FFIC 2021 Fall. A last-minute triple-kill by Killer in a difficult solo versus squad fight got Orangutan Elite one more point than their nemesis and won them their first official pro tournament. Moving on to the Asia Championship, Killer and RDP relentlessly fought that final battle against EArena and GPX Esports to win the booyah in the last ‘mystery’ map of the tournament. That was the first time an Indian team was able to win a booyah on the international stage.

These were the five best players of 2021 in our books. Congratulations to them all for their outstanding performance this year.
