Journey to FFIC 2021 Fall Grand Finals feat. Total Gaming Epsorts

We are few days away from the Grand Finals of the Free Fire India Championship 2021 Fall. Before we head into this extravagant affair, we spoke to some of the contenders who have a good chance of taking the trophy for themselves. One of them is Total Gaming Esports, who qualified from the second spot of Group A. Let’s see what their thoughts are about the upcoming finals.
Q. Congratulations for making it to the Grand Finals. You are the defending champions and one of the audience's favourites. Are you feeling any pressure because of this?
Mafia: Yes, there is quite a lot of pressure on our shoulders, but I think we are dealing with it pretty well. We were the winners of the last season as well - when we won FFIC 2020 Fall. Of course, that was with a different line-up. I wasn’t a part of the team back then. But after that, we also won the Free Fire Pro League 2021 Summer when nobody expected us to. I’m sure we can win it again. I’m glad that the audience and our fans are supporting us, and we will not disappoint them.
Q. Group A had some pretty surprising performances from newcomers like Desi Gamers Esports and Aura Gaming Esports. What are your opinions about them?
Fozy Ajay: I don’t think they can be called underdogs anymore. They have performed well enough to be called as top tier teams now. And they were never underdogs to begin with. Sure, they might be entering the FFIC for the first time, but these teams have been playing in other tournaments for quite some time now. The players are old and experienced, only the roster is new. A new brand doesn’t change the amount of experience these players have, and I’m sure they will perform well. The casters might call them the underdogs because of the interesting storylines that surround these teams, but they can surprise you with the number of aces they have under their sleeve. I’m excited to see what they will do against us. It will make the competition more intense and the audience will surely have a blast watching all these teams play against the older, bigger names.
Q. Which teams do you think will create problems for you in the Grand Finals?
Mafiabala: Oh the usual. Nobody. The older teams like TSM, Team Elite, Blind Esports, Galaxy Racers and 4Unknown will show up and shoot down the lobby. But we have faced these teams numerous times before so we know what to expect. The newer teams might shake things up a little, but even the harshest of storms cannot uproot the trees with deeper roots. And we are going to dig deep this time. The only people who can create problems for us are ourselves. If we make internal mistakes, only then will we struggle. No external force can dent our armor.
Q. What are the biggest strengths of your team?
FozyAjay: Once again, I’d like to say, our coordination. We can be the most dynamic team ever. We can tackle any bad situation if we communicate with each other, set expectations from every player, and define all our roles properly. Yes, during the League Stage, our communication was not upto the mark, that’s why we had some losses. Those issues became our Achilles Heel. Although, we are confident that we can recover from those issues, and crush our opponents beneath our feet.
