Team Elite and 4 Unknown turn up the heat, key underdogs reveal their potential

What a day. Full of twists and plot turns. While the big names of the lobby did what they do best - dominate, several underdog teams also stepped up their performance today to start posting more points on the boards. Out of the 12 teams that played yesterday, two teams - Team Elite and 4 Unknown, were able to win a booyah each. However, several underdog teams showed us what they were capable of. Teams like LR7 Esports, T2K,  Arrow Gaming forced us to turn our eyes away from the obvious favourites and take a long, hard look at the true potential of hungry youngbloods. Aura Gaming Esports and Desi Gamers also impressed us, however it isn’t fair to call them underdogs anymore.

T2K and Arrow Esports get important position points, LR7 Esports starts popping off

To start the day off, LR7 Esports showed great potential when they surged forward into the heart of the circle step-by-step, one compound at a time. They fought and wiped whoever they saw, all the while being careful to not get third partied. That’s probably the main reason why they did not get completely wiped out. They did lose a few limbs by the time the circle shrunk and weren’t always able to escape unscathed from a fight, but their kill-to-death ratio was justified. They were able to get 12 kills in the first game itself, even though they didn’t survive for too long. While LR7 Esports was waging war, Arrow Esports and T2K played it slyly. Both these teams positioned themselves close to, or inside the Factory right at the start of the second zone. It was surprising to see that they did not fight each other but instead camped there with three other squads. All these squads only fought each other when the zone was small enough to force them all out of their hiding holes. Even then, T2K finished second, and Arrow Gaming Esports sprung into action at the right time to catch everyone off guard. That being said, T2K stayed relatively safe up until the very end and did not have too severe of a disadvantage going into the final fight. Even though the odds were evenly distributed, Arrow Gaming Esports won the booyah because of their snappier movement.

Desi Gamers Esports carry out their game plans without interruption

Aura Gaming Esports, Ungraduate Gamer, Galaxy Racer, and Desi Gamers Esports had probably the best arena-style finish we have seen in a while. The circle started to hover around Brasilia around the early phases of the game. Most teams started to hunt for compounds, but as the circle shrunk, it forced all the teams out into the open. When the dust settled, these four teams were all left with 3 to 4 members and no cover. The game was as fair as it could get, with all of them having more or less an equal chance of winning. Desi Gamers Esports displayed great zone control by making sure nobody got in between their shoulder blades and kept themselves mobile. Like a strong indestructible tank, they crawled ahead to step on the graves of their enemies. They won the booyah with a decent number of kills to extend their lead in Group A. While Aura Gaming Esports did have good performances in the games to follow, Desi Gamers Esports were way more destructive. They are firmly seated on top of the table. The chance of anyone dethroning them is negligible.

4 Unknown unfurl their flag high up in Kalahari

This is a team that hot drops in Refinery in every game of Kalahari. They are the masters of this area. Several teams have tried to contest them in this area across the tournament, and every single one of them regretted doing it. Refinery being smack in the center of the map does offer them quite a lot of advantage. Because of the terrain of this region, almost every team struggles to survive in this region. With the presence of 4 Unknown who are just absolutely great at holding this area, passing through without bloodshed becomes a rarity. Due to their dominant tactics, they cut off the rotations of every other team, and the wise use of their grappling hook guns to reposition, they made sure that they were never outmaneuvered. They won the booyah in both the Kalahari matches of the day. With that impactful double booyah finish to the day, they climbed up to the top of the leaderboard today. However, they are yet to overtake Galaxy Racer in the League Standings. Galaxy Racer currently stands at 88 points and 4 Unknown is at 81. They reduced the difference down to just 7 points, which is a significant improvement. Even if the status quo remains, both Galaxy Racer and 4 Unknown will qualify for the Grand Finals of FFIC 2021 Fall directly.

Team Elite desperately trying to catch up

Team Elite is also one of the hottest contestants that fans would have expected a direct qualification from. Unfortunately, Group C is the group of death, and it has too many tough opponents, which makes it difficult for championship-caliber teams like them to struggle. They had a great performance yesterday. They were able to win Matches 4 and 5 in a row. Both the matches were hard-fought, but everyone lifted the weight equally on the team. TE - RDP ended up being in the top 5 kill leaders of the day, which is unusual because we almost always see TE - Pahadi on the summit. Their mix of well-timed aggression along with resource management gets them the perfect recipe for success. But even two booyahs carried them up only to the fourth spot on the overall leaderboard. According to League Points, they are still third, trailing behind Galaxy Racer and 4Unknown. With only two days remaining in the League Stage, they must pick up the pace and the pieces if they want to qualify for the Grand Finals directly, failing which they will have to go through the grueling Play-Ins.

The competition is far from over. Come see whether or not your favourite teams will be able to take a step towards the Grand Finals or not, on Day 8 of the FFIC 2021 Fall League Stage. Make sure you cheer for your favourite players at 6 PM IST on 2nd October 2021, on the Free Fire Esports India YouTube Channel.
