Throwback to Free Fire World Series 2019

The Free Fire World Series 2021 is right around the corner. The best teams and players in the world will gather in Singapore for the ultimate showdown. The winners will be crowned as the kings and queens of the Free Fire world. With less than a month remaining for the tournament to begin, the qualified teams have already started preparing for this mega-event. A lot of effort and practice has gone into this and everyone will look to give it their all. This will be a treat for the viewers as well because the competition has never been this intense before. To give you a slight glimpse of what’s in store for you, why don’t we recap what happened during the last time in the Free Fire World Series 2019.

Brazil, Russia, Thailand were the most dominant regions

Some of the most dominant teams in the championship were from these countries. Corinthians and LOUD from Brazil set the stage on fire with their mind-blowing performances. The crowd in Barra Olympic Park in Rio De Janerio were thoroughly impressed with their home teams and cheered for them at the top of their lungs.

Teams like LGDS and Illuminate were also doing some amazing stuff. In fact, LGDS was able to secure two booyahs during the grand finals, which shifted the delta in their favour. Unfortunately, they were unable to secure the win. Sbornaya CHR from Russia too pulled off two victories.

Intense rivalries between the teams

Every time one team go outclass, and it felt like they might run away with the title, another team stepped up to take them down. The rivalries between the top 3 teams were super intense as they all just kept trying to one-up each other. The day started with Illuminate taking the first win, but they were unable to keep up. Sbornaya CHR won the second and the third game, following which they shot up high in the rankings. The Russian team continued getting top 3 placements in the other matches as well where they couldn’t secure the win. This got them a constant stream of points and let them hover at the top. LGDS stepped up to the fray, winning two back-to-back booyahs of their own to make the competition even more intense.

But the real champions - Corinthians was just starting to wake up

Corinthians faced Sbornaya CHR multiple times in the final battle. Those two would often be the last two teams standing and Corinthians were never able to secure a win in the first half of the day. But then they stepped up massively and won the last two games of the finals to clinch the tournament.

In the final game of Purgatory, the moment Sbornaya got eliminated, it was a race to victory for teams like LGDS and Corinthians.

Level Up from the Brazilian team pulled off a 1 vs 2 clutch in the final moment to win the last game, and eventually the tournament too. The stadium erupted with joy as the spectators saw their local champions win a global tournament.

We understand that having a thrilling stadium experience like that will be difficult in the FFWS 2021 Singapore this year, due to the ongoing pandemic and restrictions, but regardless of that, we hope you tune in online from the safety of your homes and cheer for your favourite teams on the live stream.
