Can India teams dominate the Free Fire Tri Series?
06/04/2021
India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh - six teams each from these three countries will be battling each other in the Free Fire Tri-Series that is set to start on 9th April 2021. This mega tournament will feature some of the best teams in the sub-continent. Some of the teams here even have international experience, having competed in previous tournaments like the Free Fire Continental Series (2020).
In this article, we will take a look at all the contenders and what they’re up against, in an attempt to evaluate whether Indian teams can conquer FFTS. Let’s start by taking a look at the contenders.
Galaxy Racer
The winners of Free Fire India Championship 2021 Spring are currently the hottest team on the server. The player that makes them the most dangerous team is also one of the most experienced players in the country. Vasiyo has represented India in international tournaments several times, and this time will be no different. He had a top 3 finish during the Free Fire Asia All-Stars, doing pretty well in the Free Fire Continental Series, and winning the FFIC twice back to back. All eyes will be set on them.
Team Elite and Sixth Sense
Sharp and consistent, these two teams have almost always found themselves in the top spots in any Indian Free Fire tournament. Just like Galaxy Racer, these teams too have been in the Play-Ins of the Free Fire Continental Series. While they may not have as many international stamps as Vasiyo, but that doesn’t make them any less deadly. Their raw aim is enough to shake the foundations of naysayers.
Team Chaos, Last Breath, and Nemesis
The other contenders from India are also equally deadly. Team Chaos has been in the Tier 1 Free Fire circuit for ages. They almost always are present in the top spots of any FFIC tournament. While they may be lacking international experience, they do dominate in terms of firepower. Also, they specialize in Purgatory, which makes it their home turn going into every tournament. It’s great to have a specialization like that. Nemesis and Last Breath are relatively new contenders in the Tier 1 scene. However, the way they rose from the bottom and quickly established a name for themselves is impressive. Let’s see if they can do the same outside the national borders as well.
Let’s now take a look at the teams who can give them a run for their money.
The first names on our mind are two teams from Pakistan - Team TG and House of Blood
Team TG and House of Blood both participated in the Free Fire Continental Series, in the Play-ins and the Finals respectively. In both the tournaments, they performed slightly better than the Indian teams as they had a slightly higher rank. House of Blood outranked XTZ Esports (now called Sixth Sense) and Team Elite, whereas Team TG was just one spot above Team Elite.
The only Indian team that performed better than them during the Continental Series was Total Gaming - a team that isn’t even a part of the Tri-Series tournament. Judging by the past performances, the Pakistani teams do have a pretty good chance of outperforming the Indian teams.
Bangladeshi teams, on the other hand, have never faced teams outside their country before in an official tournament, making this the first international tournament for all the teams of that nation.
For that reason, it becomes difficult to predict how they will fare against the others, We hope they will have fun and enjoy this experience.
Make sure to tune in to Free Fire Tri-Series starting from 9th April at 14:00 IST on Free Fire Esports India Youtube channel.
